The latest issue of design and art magazine, Arkitip, focusses on Shepard Fairey, the man behind the Obey street art campaign, clothing label and the now iconic Obama Hope poster, which won our Designs of the Year 2009 prize here at the Design Museum. Arkitip is never merely a magazine, each issue is an exercise in ingenious, high quality, collectable package design and print production, invariably including a unique art piece. Issue 51 is no different, in fact it is extra special, as it arrives packaged with a Shepard Fairey 7.5 x 10 in. silk screen print designed and printed specifically for this issue edition. Each print is signed by the artist. All of this is packaged neatly in a custom designed box by Incase (noted for their superlative laptop and i-phone cases). The issue includes an essay by Pedro Alonzo and a new, extensive interview with Fairey by Simon Steinhardt. 96 pages + stencil cover. Four colour offset printed, perfect bound. Hand packaged.
